First Impressions
This sailing on Celebrity Silhouette will always hold a special place in my memory—it was my first cruise back after the pandemic pause, and the buzz of finally being able to travel to the USA again was real! The ship was sailing at around 50% capacity at the time, which made everything feel a little more exclusive, a little more spacious… and a whole lot more relaxing.
Silhouette has that modern luxury feel Celebrity does so well—elegant without being stuffy, and perfectly suited to adults who want something a bit more refined. One of our absolute favourite spots onboard was the Sunset Bar at the aft of the ship. The atmosphere here was spot on—laid-back, friendly, and just the best place to be at sailaway. There’s something pretty special about watching the wake disappear into the horizon with a cocktail in hand and some great music playing in the background.
My Stateroom
We stayed in a Deluxe Oceanview Balcony Stateroom on Deck 7 and it was a great choice. Spacious, comfortable, and just a lovely place to unwind. The décor was modern and calming, and we had more than enough storage space (always a bonus!). The balcony gave us a quiet little sanctuary—perfect for morning coffee or just taking in the sea views whenever we fancied a bit of peace and quiet.
Food & Drink Highlights
We added the Speciality Dining Package onboard for $99 each, which gave us three visits to speciality restaurants, and it was absolutely worth it. Each venue had its own vibe and flavour, and the service was consistently excellent. It really elevated the whole dining experience for us.
The main dining room ticked all the boxes too—good variety, lovely service, and a nice mix of familiar favourites and new dishes to try. During the day, we found ourselves gravitating towards the Oceanview Café for quick bites, and Café al Bacio became my go-to for a decent coffee and a cheeky pastry mid-morning!
Entertainment & Atmosphere
This wasn’t a go-go-go style cruise—and that suited us perfectly. There was enough to keep things interesting—live music, quizzes, a bit of theatre—but also plenty of opportunity to just relax and enjoy the ship. And because of the reduced guest numbers, nothing ever felt too busy or hard to get into. It was a really chilled, grown-up vibe throughout.
The Service
The crew were brilliant—friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to be back at sea. You could feel their energy and enthusiasm everywhere, and they really made the experience special. From our cabin steward to the restaurant teams, the service was warm, consistent, and just the right level of attentive.
A special mention has to go to the Main Dining Room staff—they went out of their way every evening to make sure we were looked after, and they were an absolute laugh too! It felt more like being welcomed back by old friends than just being served dinner. That kind of service makes a big difference, and it’s something Celebrity always seem to get just right.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a cruise that feels modern, grown-up, and a little bit indulgent—but still warm and welcoming—Celebrity Silhouette absolutely delivers. This sailing felt like a real treat, especially with the extra breathing space onboard. And if you do sail on her? Don’t miss that Sunset Bar at sailaway—it became our happy place.
