Is it better to cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship that's older or newer?

Choosing between cruising on a Royal Caribbean ship that’s older or newer depends on your preferences and priorities. Royal Caribbean offers a diverse fleet with options to suit various travel styles.

Newer Ships (Voyager, Freedom, Oasis, and Quantum Class):
Advantages: Newer ships come with the latest innovations in entertainment, dining, and technology. They’re ideal for travellers who appreciate modern design and want a wide range of onboard activities.

Considerations: Cruising on newer ships can be more expensive, and availability may be limited during peak seasons due to their popularity. Booking in advance is recommended.

Older Ships (Vision and Radiance Class):
Advantages: Older ships can provide a more intimate and classic cruising experience. They may have a nostalgic charm and offer a cosier atmosphere, plus they can dock in smaller ports of call, making for exciting itineraries.

Considerations: Older ships may lack the extensive amenities and entertainment options of newer counterparts. Cabins and public spaces might not be as spacious or modern.

Before booking a Royal Caribbean cruise, take the time to research the fleet’s ships to ensure you select one that aligns with your travel style and expectations. Some cruisers may appreciate the nostalgia and intimate feel of older, smaller vessels. In contrast, others may prefer the variety of amenities and innovations offered by Royal Caribbean’s newest and largest ships. Ultimately, the “better” choice depends on your individual preferences and priorities for your cruise experience.
